ACTION FOR CHARITY'S WOMEN V CANCER CHALLENGE is a huge success as hundreds of women take positive action and join the first ride in Kenya. Due to enormous demand for places a fifth date has now been announced for this fantastic fundraising ride which is set to raise significant funds to help in the fight against breast, ovarian and cervical cancers. Women of all ages are joining together to cycle through the Rift Valley - from the slopes of majestic Mount Kenya to the shores of magnificent Lake Victoria. We will cycle as a group covering around 400kms over five days, experiencing Africa away from the usual tourist trails. It will be a journey full of fun, friendship and incredible support as women of all ages and from all walks of life challenge themselves for an amazing cause. And when we have completed our challenge we will visit an elephant orphanage working to rehabilitate young elephants orphaned through poaching and other human-related disasters back into the wild at Nairobi National Park.

Funds raised by Women V Cancer will be divided equally between three important charities: Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action and used to support their valuable work. To take part you need to pay a registration fee and then raise minimum sponsorship funds of £2,800. We're also supporting cancer care in Kenya so £100 of the funds you raise will be added to a donation of £25 per cyclist from Action for Charity and used for a project to help Kenyan people. You will be joining a team of special women who really want to make a difference and we will support you all the way with your fundraising and with training days so you can meet other women taking part and assess your own personal fitness.

This is an opportunity to share a challenge of a lifetime cycling through a country of enormous beauty and great contrasts with a hugely diverse and wonderful flora and some 160 species of mammals including “The Big Five” – lions, buffaloes, elephants, leopards and rhinos. We will cycle both on and off road through savannah plains, game parks, tropical rainforests and traditional villages. It will be a very special challenge and a great adventure for everyone who takes part.
